These abominations come from a music genre “Svenska dansband” which translates to English as “Swedish dance bands”. It’s a genre of Swedish popular music that originated in the 1950s and became very popular in the 1970s and 1980s. The music is characterized by its upbeat tempo, catchy melodies, and dance-friendly rhythms… and completely ridiculous album covers.
