A sink is a small cozy place cats can fit into, like a box. Some cats like playing with dripping drops
It as close to a natural hiding/restplace you get in an apartment. It is also elevated so they can keep an eye on the surroundings. Since they are small predators, they need to watch both for pray and predators who hunt cats. Preferably they also like to have some cover over them, so that birds of prey dont see them.
