The Winners of Competition For The Worst School Toilets In Russia

Cleaning-product brand Domestos has announced the winners of a competition for the worst school toilets in Russia, unleashing a wave of criticism over the creaking condition of bathrooms across the country. Dozens of pictures of school toilets were submitted to the British brand’s marketing campaign, ranging from decrepit squat toilets from Soviet times to numerous toilets offering users little-to-no privacy. All participating schools that took part in the promotion will receive a year’s supply of Domestos cleaning products. Scroll down to see the winners!

  1. EWW! These look like toilets of abandoned buildings, rather than schools. What the frick is the school administration doing?

  2. Why pick on the Russians? These could be schools in Chicago or New York, for all I know!

  3. Latrines were more common in the past that most people imagine. Believe it or not, people used bathrooms just to take a shit, not to sit comfortably for 20 minutes while you waste time on your phone.

  4. Fourth-to-last one looks like an ancient Roman toilet. Yo…Russia: it’s the 21st century. Lots of placed even have running water.

  5. I get stage fright when the urinals are too close together. I’d seize up entirely if I had to shit next to a stranger. Bet the women’s bathrooms all have coordinated drapes and hand towels, though.

  6. These toilets have no graffiti on the walls or stall doors. Clearly not in America.

  7. If you think the toilets suck in russian schools, well just wait until you see the curriculum.

  8. Actually, I have seen the ones with brick partitions at a roller skating place in the US. You kinda need a partner to stand and shield you in those. They aren’t that bad though.

  9. Look, I rather shit crouching in a hole, than sit on someone elses disease.
I think the holes are decent. Better than some of the caked up camp toilets I saw in my hippie phase anyways.

  11. Ok what is going on with school toilets nowadays, i go to a british school and the toilets are pretty good, not half as bad as these, usally its the kds that ruin it for themselves really but i think they do a pretty decent job at cleaning up the mess. One reason is that the toilets have doors but its open plan so i think that deters people from grafiting a little, another reason is that u dong really have time to graffiti. U have like 1 minuite to get from lesson to lesson so the only chance to ruin the toilets really is in lunch or break but most people are eating or with their friends then, these toilets are discusting like what even is the fourth to last one???

  12. No these are not American toilets. You need to look at them carefully. America doesn’t have squat toilets. Those are usually found in the middle east and in russia and some other former Soviet states. Not everyone wants or can afford to go into modern western toilets.

  13. I have been living in Russia all my life, and honestly I have never seen such toilets anywhere, ABSOLUTELY ANYWHERE. Rather, this entire article is a rofl. In Russia, exactly the same toilets as in Europe. Don’t believe everything you see

  14. I speak Russian, we have such toilets and it’s easier for us not to shit at school than to shit there, but in elementary school, plus or minus the norms, there are only no napkins, the doors do not close and the study is good, but you can only go there in a small way if someone shits there, he became scary well, in general, the school score is 7/10
