    There’s a trend for even professionally designed covers to look like they were made out of Colorforms. Especially in “cozy mysteries”. Ick.

    So, some people can’t afford a professional cover art and design, and do it themselves. It’s nothing to mock.
    Now, take some established author with a professional cover actually paid for, there’s plenty of horrid stuff there, and those deserve to be mocked and laughed at.
