Groundhog Steals Farmer’s Crop, Eats It In Front of His Security Camera

Jeff Permar decided to start a garden plot in a new spot outside his home in Delaware. But, much to his dismay, as the fruits of his labor were almost ready to harvest, they began to disappear. Apparently, a thief was afoot. He decided to set a camera up near his garden to catch the mystery thief in the act to know who he had to blame. When he finally reviewed the footage, Permar saw this – an adorably chubby groundhog munching away on his veggies.

Just like that, Permar’s anger melted away. He named the groundhog Chunk – and from that point forward, really hoped Chunk would come back for more. And he did. So Jeff opened an Instagram account @chunk_the_groundhog and the star was born. Scroll down to see the funniest footage!

  1. I have been a fan of Chunk and Farmer Jeff since the covid lock-downs……..Chunk is my spirit animal………………..and FYI their You Tube channel is much better than their instragram page.

  2. Well, tr his was a VERY cute rodent, but he was no capybara! 8/10, would reccomend to family under the caveat that this post is missing capybaras. I would be happy with rabbits, too.

  3. Who cares if it’s staged? Most viewers don’t get to see a groundhog at all and he’s adorable. All that loose furry skin and those tiny hands!

  4. Not only does Chunk wash his carrots, he slices his cauliflower into quarters and finds an apple in the veggie garden, because they are fast growing plants too.

13/ 10 would definitely watch again.

  5. @Anonymous #4 – Staged – who cares? Don’t you know that without these amusing little pictures that 1/2 of America’s office workers would jump out of a window?

  6. The first item was not washed. I think the farmer decided to leave pre-cut, pre-washed food for Chunk after that.
