Sofia Warren has been a cartoonist for The New Yorker since 2017, contributing cartoons and essays for the digital humor section. Her comics have also run in MoMA magazine, Narrative Magazine, and Catapult, among other places. Her first book, Radical – a graphic memoir about the year she spent embedded with freshman state senator Julia Salazar, was published in 2022, so please do check it out.   2. Agree. These are better than the run-of-the-mill. (Obsolete phrase that no doubt goes over the heads of millennials, etc).

    As an “old guy” I do definitely relate to a couple. I’m sure you can guess.

  4. As an old white man, I’m going to save one of these to send it out to friends and family on my 70th birthday next month. Some will feel highly (and deservedly) insulted, and reply with variations on a theme of indignant Harrumph Harrumph. With others I’m sure, it will inspire a number of worthy spit-takes.

    You can guess which cartoon—this occasion will be the only day of my life I’ll be able to use it! Thank you Sofia Warren.
