Sam, if you check the reflection in his sunglasses, you can see he only takes pics when the road is mostly empty. In the night pictures, we do not see an illumination from oncoming traffic nor from anyone behind him. Thus, it seems he is being relatively safe.
Can’t wait to read online about the guy who hit a pot hole he didn’t see and lost control of his car because he was taking a selfie with his sleeping wife and spoiled dog. Put the stupid phone down and pay attention.

She needs to go see a neurologist. She could be experiencing narcolepsy, an infection, low thyroid or multiple sclerosis. There are other causes but she should rule these out.

I was helping my parents move my brother a few states over when I was sixteen. I was in the big truck with my very funny dad (for this leg of the trip) and fell asleep. He happened to see the golden opportunity of a semi hauling another semi backward (you know it if you’ve ever seen it, hard to describe quickly). Knowing the chance was one in many, he maneuvered our truck ver close behind the rear-facing semi, and then tapped the brakes, leaned on the horn, screamed ‘NOOOO’ and threw an arm over me, protectively. As you have already surmised, I woke up instantly, to a shout and an arm, and the vision of an oncoming semi truck. He cackles as he recalls this tale “you tried to climb out of the back window like a frightened cat!”

This is funny. I had a boyfriend like this, as soon as the car started going he’d pass out like an infant in a car seat.
How’s your driving? I use to pretend to fall asleep on every road trip. X drove like a race car driver and that was the only way to not yell about his driving, NOT LOOKING.
So, what happens when the wife finds out? He’s just asking for trouble. Driving while using his phone might be the least of him problems.
