Would You Wear This Portable Retractable Safety Mitt To Help You Not Touch Anything?

What do you get when you attach a silicone oven mitt to a retractable cord that’s attached to your hip? For one, you get a weirdo that you can spot from a mile away. But besides that, you get a portable safety mitt that allows you to grab door handles, hold safety bars on the bus or subway, and touch just about anything else during these weird infectious times we currently live in. It’s shamelessly called the CovMitt-19, and it’s sold by Etsy store TheDewDrops.

  1. animal-shaped silicone oven mitts – $2 on aliexpress
retractable badge holder $0.78 on aliexpress
put it together and charge $12 plus shipping – pure profit

  2. It wouldn’t stop the spread of virus to the doorknobs, and could carry it from one to another, unless, for only $9.99 extra you buy a package of wipes.

There are at least three projects on Kickstarter selling things to open doors.

  3. Considering how scare latex gloves have become, I can see a legitimate demand for these.

  4. I think it’s a fantastic idea – more power to them! Leave latex gloves to the healthcare workers. This helps others reduce CoVID spread. Very handy compared to putting gloves on & off, would make it easy for people in short sleeve shirts to open doors without touching. Keeps people from being lazy and touching. Very handy for any workers who have to go through a lot of doors but can’t wear gloves. Even for healthcare workers already wearing gloves, it’s extra protection.
