When normal people visit famous landmarks, they commonly pull out their phones and snap a selfie to keep as a memory of being there. Artist Stephanie Leigh Rose does something different: she shoots anti-selfies of herself “dying” and the result is quite funny. She calls this series of photos “Stefdies”. The artist says that reactions to her taking the photos depends on the city and culture she takes them in. “In Paris, for example, no one even noticed as they just assumed I was a crazy artist. Which I really liked, as it allowed me to run around the city and get these amazing shots.” Throughout the years, only about five people ever come to ask if she’s okay. Well mr. Aussie, I just googled stefdies and found her website, wich has both a shop and an email to contact the artist.
So I this I know where would be a good place to start.
Vacation photos are always so miserably tired and anxious and brittle. But she looks so wonderfully, completely relaxed in all these places!
Funny. Except the one at Lincoln Memorial. Disrespectful. Grateful she didn’t do one at Arlington Cemetery.
