My first PC was a TI99 (Texas Instruments). Was a big deal because it had 16k ram. You had to connect a cassette tape recorder with another plug for automatic start/stop in order to save your program in basic. Used your TV for the monitor. Also bought one of the first IBM P3's for work in the 1980's and it cost $25,000. Could buy a supercomputer for that price today.

"Now you've got a 32 bit microprocessor, a Meg or more of RAM, and a monitor that looks so good it makes you feel guilty." Oh yea, and referencing that Excel has a new visual interface "with the same look and feel as OS/2 from IBM and Microsoft." I remember being at the Consumer Electronics Show one year when IBM was having a drawing for OS/2, there must have a hundred people standing around trying to get lucky. I would have liked to have won...I really wanted to try it, but like so many others, not enough to pay for it. Come to think of it I don't believe I ever did get a chance to set down and mess around with it. All that hype about how OS/2 was going to replace Windows etc. Funny how everyone's still gunning for the Microsoft OS. Step up to the line Chrome, draw your weapon and come out firing.

I'm loving the "HoneyWell: “What the Heck is Electronic Mail?” (1981)" It looks good even today and might still be just as relevant.
